A Historic Village Setting

Erindale Village was originally settled in 1822 under the direction of Thomas Racey, an agent of the crown. In its early years, Erindale served as a stopping place for weary travellers on the road from Hamilton to York (now Toronto). Today, many of the breathtaking heritage residences from Erindale’s history can still be seen dotting the tree-lined streets of the village.

One of the most prominent landmarks in those early days was The Royal Exchange Hotel.
